UC Davis messages

Goal-oriented communication requires that we reach our constituents with the most effective, targeted messages to influence their behavior (donating, enrolling, visiting, etc.) and engender a positive attitude toward UC Davis. What are effective messages? Most simply, they are the strengths of the university intersected with the interests of the audience.

The messages in this section were formulated through research and in consultation with UC Davis leaders. If you are communicating broadly with a certain audience, you should incorporate the messages in this section, when appropriate.

Messages should be conveyed through inspiring stories, salient facts, powerful photographs and other communication tools.

You may have an audience segment that would benefit from an even more specific set of messages to complement those found here. If you would like help developing such a set, please contact University Communications.

With any new outreach effort to a specific audience, please consult beforehand with the office(s) with primary responsibility for relationships to that audience. You will be more effective in your efforts, and that office will be better able to coordinate UC Davis communications to that audience.
