Graphic Standards

UC Davis logo

Since 1989, UC Davis’ graphic identity has been built around the wordmark, color and typographic standards, all meant to make our visual identity clearer, more consistent and distinctive. Research has shown the wordmark to be by far the campus’s best-recognized symbol, and it remains the preferred visual identifier for UC Davis.

The unit logo signature model was developed to unify, simplify and clarify the way UC Davis communicates visually. A key competitive advantage of UC Davis units is their association with UC Davis. A standard visual identity model for campus units helps important audiences immediately and unmistakably recognize communications from our campus and communicates more directly and clearly the information they need to know. This standardization has the added benefit of eliminating the costs and effort associated with producing special designs for individual units. By applying these standards consistently over time, every UC Davis communicator helps build and strengthen the campus’s visual identity and reputation.
